Ola Dermont
Mountain guide and photographer who has spent most of her life in the mountains. She is most often found on long-distance trails, via ferratas, ski tours, or bikepacking adventures. She lives in the Central Sudetes, where she is personally restoring a pre-war school in a small village in the Kamienne Mountains.
She loves showing people the mountains — both the gentle ones and the more demanding ones, especially those that remain undiscovered and feel far away to many. She chooses less obvious routes, away from crowds, where you can truly feel space and breathe. She appreciates the growing popularity of mountain hiking in Poland, while also caring deeply that respect for nature is not lost, and that simple principles — like carrying out your own trash — remain second nature.
She finds the greatest sense of peace when she is alone in the mountains. That’s when most problems become smaller, more manageable, and easier to face.
During the Camp, Ola will lead an all-women group into the mountains. Additionally, once a month, as part of Patagonia Events and a joint initiative with Movement for Change, we organize a Community Hike & Clean Up — hikes for women and female-identifying people combined with caring for wild places and removing what does not belong there.
As we say: Leave it better than you found it, and be found better than you left.
