Kasia Biernacka
Outdoor photographer and caver, film program director at the Mountain Festival in Lądek-Zdrój.
I want to be everywhere, try everything, and I can't stand missing out on anything exciting. I'm constantly in motion—especially out in nature. If I’m not dashing through a cave, I’m climbing, biking, or paddling down a river. There are few outdoor sports I haven’t tried. I’m drawn to the thrill of the new, the challenge of the unknown, and the energy of change. But I also know how to unplug completely and live slowly—ideally in the mountains, in my van-turned-camper.
For 25 years, I’ve been passionate about exploring deep caves and capturing the underground world through photography—along with the people who dare to discover it. I share these stories through multimedia presentations and children’s workshops, hoping to spark their love for nature and a desire to protect it.
I work professionally in the visual arts as well. I’ve filmed underground as a camera operator on two major productions—for Discovery Channel and National Geographic. Since 2013, I’ve curated the film program at the Mountain Festival in Lądek-Zdrój. Between editions, I also distribute mountain and outdoor films throughout Poland.
